Main Purpose

  • To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students and to support a designated curriculum area as appropriate
  • To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students as teacher/Form Tutor
  • To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential
  • To contribute to raising standards of student attainment
  • To share and support the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth.

Transition Teacher

Required from March 2026

The post holder shall:

Set high expectations which inspire motivate and challenge pupils

  • Teach pupils in KS3 who have gaps in knowledge and understanding in Maths and English
  • Work with both Maths and English departments to identify students who need specific teaching to bridge gaps in learning
  • Work with the Teacher of SEMH and TA for Reading to improve student reading ages via the LEXONIK LEAP programme
  • Establish clear targets for achievement and evaluate progress through the use of appropriate assessments and take into account analysis of these data
  • Prepare, develop and deliver teaching programmes using materials and techniques which will engage and stimulate pupils of all abilities.
  • Modify existing Knowledge books to suit the needs of students
  • Give pupils regular feedback, both orally and through accurate marking and encourage pupils to respond to the feedback, reflect on progress and take a responsible and conscientious attitude to their own work and study.
