"Some young people need a different route to success. This role is about making sure they find it."

The Opportunity

At The Telford Park School, we believe that every young person has the right to an excellent education, whatever their starting point. We are looking for a passionate, skilled, and resilient professional to join our team as Curriculum Delivery Lead within our Internal Alternative Provision (AP).

This is a rare and genuinely rewarding role. You will lead the delivery of structured, high-quality academic provision for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, helping them to re-engage with learning, build confidence, and find their pathway forward. You will teach English, Maths, Functional Skills, and ASDAN qualifications: not just as subjects, but as tools that open doors.

If you are someone who builds strong relationships with hard-to-reach young people, holds high expectations without losing warmth, and genuinely believes that every student can succeed, we would love to hear from you.

What You Will Do

No two days will look the same, but at the heart of this role is one consistent goal: ensuring students in our AP receive ambitious, well-planned, and adaptive teaching every day.

You will design and deliver lessons in English, Maths, Functional Skills, and ASDAN. You will identify gaps in learning and lead targeted interventions, track progress carefully, and maintain clear pathways, whether that means supporting a student back into mainstream education or guiding them through an alternative accreditation route.

Beyond the classroom, you will work closely with our pastoral, SENCo, and safeguarding teams. You will contribute to pupil progress reports, support reintegration planning, and play an active role in the wider life of the provision. You will bring trauma-informed, relational approaches to everything you do, creating a calm, structured, and trusting space where real learning can take place.

As a colleague, you will model best practice, contribute to CPD on SEMH and behaviour, and help raise the quality of provision across the whole AP team.

Who We Are Looking For

You will need: GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above, experience working with young people with SEMH or behavioural needs, the ability to plan and deliver structured academic support, and strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.

It would be an advantage if you also have a Level 3/4 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent, direct experience within alternative provision, experience delivering Functional Skills or ASDAN, and knowledge of trauma-informed or relational practice.

Above all, we are looking for someone who is calm, resilient, and emotionally intelligent. Someone who is patient and adaptable, solution-focused, and who builds trust with young people naturally. You share our conviction that every student, no matter how complex their needs, deserves excellent teaching and a genuine chance to progress.

Why Join Telford Park?

Telford Park is a school where committed, community-proud professionals thrive. We are a warm, values-led team united by genuine care for our students and their futures. We invest in our people.

In this role you will benefit from strong day-to-day leadership and line management support, a structured induction, access to ongoing CPD in SEMH, behaviour, and alternative provision, and membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme. You will also be part of the wider Amethyst Academies Trust, a growing family of ambitious schools committed to excellence across the region.

Our three school values: Be Prepared, Show Respect, Challenge Yourself. These are not just for students. They are the standards we hold ourselves to as a staff team, every single day.

Safeguarding Commitment

The Telford Park School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All appointments are subject to an enhanced DBS check. The successful candidate will be expected to act in accordance with Keeping Children Safe in Education and to uphold our culture of vigilance, care, and responsibility.
