Teaching Staff Application Form

Raising Standards Leader - SEND (Qualified SENCO)

Pay Scale: Leadership L8-L12)

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: Full time

This is not a maintenance role.
This is a making‑a‑difference role.

Telford Park School is on a journey of rapid improvement. After a period of challenge, we are building something powerful: a school with high expectations, strong relationships and inclusive ambition for every child.

We are now seeking a Raising Standards Leader for SEND to join our Extended Leadership Team.

This role is for someone who:

  • Believes deeply in the potential of young people with SEND
  • Thrives on challenge rather than comfort
  • Wants responsibility, influence and the chance to leave a lasting legacy

Our school serves a community with high levels of SEND and disadvantage. That makes this role demanding, but also hugely rewarding. You will work with pupils who need exceptional leadership, staff who want to get better, and a leadership team that is honest, supportive and ambitious.

You will not inherit a finished system.
You will help to shape it, strengthen it and take it further.

In return, we offer:

  • A genuine leadership role with real influence
  • The chance to lead change where it matters most
  • A school committed to professional growth and evidence‑based practice
  • The opportunity to be part of a team that believes improvement is possible, and proves it every day

If you are a qualified SENCO who is ready to stretch yourself, challenge low expectations and make a measurable difference to young lives, we would love to hear from you.

Amethyst Academies Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. We expect all staff to share this commitment and to undergo appropriate checks, including enhanced DBS.

The role is covered by part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016 and therefore the ability to speak fluent spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.

Amethyst Academies Trust supports Equal Opportunities Employment.

Working pattern: Full time: 1.0 FTE

Contract type: Permanent

Pay scale: Main Scale, Upper Scale

Closing Date:  18th May 2026

The Role and Your Professional Impact

We are seeking an expert practitioner who possesses a deep-seated passion for English and the pedagogical skill to deliver a knowledge-rich curriculum. In this role, you will have the opportunity to shape the literacy and analytical skills of our students, ensuring they have the tools to succeed both academically and beyond the classroom. As part of the Amethyst Academies Trust, you will work within a department that values evidence-based teaching and collaborative planning. With the potential for a TLR, this position offers a distinct pathway for those looking to broaden their leadership experience or take on additional responsibilities that contribute to the wider success of the school.

The Person and Our Community

The ideal candidate will be an ambitious, resilient educator who thrives in a supportive and community-focused environment. Whether you are an Early Career Teacher or an experienced professional, you should possess a commitment to high expectations and the belief that every student can achieve excellence regardless of their starting point. We value staff who are reflective in their practice and eager to engage with our extensive professional development programmes. By joining The Telford Park School, you are becoming part of a dedicated team that puts student wellbeing and staff growth at the heart of everything we do, providing you with the stable and inspiring platform you need to truly make a difference.
